Well it started in the summer of 2006. I then drove a 1983 Ford Ranger and hotrodded that thing to no end. I was working full time
and was thinking about picking up a faster car. Well it was almost August and i had the idea of going over to Hot August Nights to
check out some older vehicles. I love the idea of no smog restrictions. Originally my whole goal was to pick up a 1970 to 1972
Chevy Nova or Chevelle. They were relatively cheap and easy to work on. In the process of looking for vehicles me and my family
stumbled across a 1968 mustang that just stuck out. Maybe it was the bright orange paint. Originally an inline 6 cylinder with a 3
speed on the floor it was quickly converted to a worn out 302. That turned out to be a bad idea. The block was from an 81 F-150
with an oddball balance. The motor literally shook itself apart. And that began the option of a 347 stroker. Sadly, i didn't build
the motor myself I had to have a local shop do it. But in the process i was able to catch on to all the dos and don'ts of engine
building. But since then all the work has paid off. The engine dynoed at 431hp and 415tq. This year has been first of running out
at the track with a best time of 12.5 @110mph with a 2.0 60'. My hopes are to hit the high 11's. Eventually my plans are to convert
to a front coil over system and rear 4-link suspension. After that the brake setup will be completed and i will hopefully be able
to finish off the motor work with a turbocharger. And oh yeah, did I mention its my daily driver.
